When you stickhandle, shoot or pass, the top hand is the control hand. Developing that "wrist roll" is crucial to fundamental mastery. Often times the bottom hand gets in the way by "squeezing" too tight, and limiting your range of motion.

  • Portions! There is a lot to eat. Keep your poriton sizes to the size of your closed fist
  • Put food on a plate instead of grazing
  • Include a fruit and veggie with each meal
  • Drink water and lots of it
  • Think smaller meals, more often
  • Share desserts. A couple of bites go a long way. No need to eat it all
  • Never go to a pary hungry

Want to kick your metabolism into overdrive?

  • If you want to burn fat you have to eat breakfast. Conventional wisdom would lead you to believe that if you do not eat, you cannot gain weight. Nothing could be further from the truth. If you rob your body of food and nutrients, your body does not have the fuel to burn fat.
  • How warm is a fire with just one log on it? You could barely roast a marshmallow. However, when you stoke the fire, the flames burn brightly. That is how your body works!
  • Don’t skip on the most important meal of the day. It will not only give you a boost to your metabolism, but it will make you more alert and mentally prepared for the day. It is hard to concentrate when your stomach is rumbling. According to a 2007 survey conducted by the International Food Information Council, only half of us eat breakfast every day.
  • Try these tasty treats: oatmeal, cereal, waffles, eggs, smoothies, fruit, nuts. A balanced breakfast has three parts: produce, whole grains and protein!
  • Make sure to drink plenty of water...drink, drink, drink up!
